Let a pretty girl wear a skirt slit just enough to show an ankle, and there is an awful roar. But a knock- kneed bow-legged man with a shaft like @ piano leg can wear knicker- dockers and no one pays any atten- tion to him.—Baudotte Region. —_— Either Is Right The loggers in the Northern woods are very much worried because the swamps are not freezing over and there i1s no snow or ice on which to move logs. The output is going to be reduced this season, as this is going to be a short winter at best —or rather at worst.—Fergus Falls Journal. —— Typographical Errors Easy en one remembers, says an ex- change, that in ordinary column there are 10,000 pieces of iype that there are seven wrong positions each letter may be put in, and there are 70,000 chances to make errors, be- mides millions of chances for trans- positions, he will notbe too critical. In the sentence, “To be or not to be.”” by transposition alone it is possible to make 2,759,022 errors. So you see the perils ‘that beset a printer.— , Fraklin messenger. —_—— 400 Out of 900 Voted The Bemidji Pioneer says that the result of the recent eletion in that city, in which the voters turned down the proposed new charter, “does not indicate that tht people of Bemidji are opposed to the commission form of government but that they believed the new proposition would not be much of an improvement over the present system.”That is the point precisely. Because the commission form of government “would not be much of an improvement over the present system,” they voted it down, 283 to 183. And perhaps 50 per cent of the voters were not sufficiently in- terested in the proposition to vote at all.--Brainerd Trib}lne. POST t‘“CLINED BY DUPUY French Min stcnal Crisis Stlll Un- solved.
