Mrs. J. J. Doran submitted to an operation yesterday after- noon, at St. Anthony’s hospital, for relief from an ailment from which she has suffered for some time past. The operation was a very delicate and dangerous one, and the prospects of recovery, in any case, are problematical. The officiating surgeons were Drs, Henderson, Ward and Morrison of this city, and{Dr. Ward of Northome. Mrs. Doran withstood the first shock of the operation, and while the dangerpoint will not be passed for several days, her friends are very hopeful of the successful outcome of the opera- tion. 3 E Likes Bemidiji. W.S. Lycan and wife of Crooks- ton came over from the ‘Queen City’’ yesterday for a visit with Mr. and Mrs. F. S. Lycan, at the Markham hotel. Mr. Scott is negotiasing for the purchase of the corner lot directly opposite the Beltrami County Mercantile company’s store, and if the deal goes through he will erect there- on a commodious and modern hotel.
