There were quite a number of small fires yesterday which were actually a good deal of benefit to many people. In the first place they helped the trade of E. A. Barker our popular Druggist as he sold the Wadsworth Bros.’ *Chicos” which were burned. Then they benefited the smokers, | for it certainly is a benefit toany man to find a cigar for 5c that will give him ‘more satisfaction than 10c cigars have before. We might say truthfully that these ciga.s were agood thing for many others, as nothing makes a man more good natured than a satisfactory smoke, such as healways gets when he lights Chico.” E. A. Barker has secured the local . agency for Wadsworth Bros.’ “Chicos” and wants all smokers to try them and see that at last it is possible to get a real Havana cigar, well made, good size, free smoker, delicious flavor, for 5c. Better try a ““Chico’’ on hlS recommondatmu TO DIVIDE THE COUNTY Anti-Court House People Want Another County Out of Clearwater. Oberg Journal: County division has again taken a firm foothold among the people and before long petitions will be out -for a new county to be set off from Clear water. The name of the new county to be Roosevelt, and em- brace all that territory north of townships 147, according to the boundaries of the present county. Polk and Beltrami counties hav- ing surplus territory will only be to glad to dispose of a part of its vast empires to ovr new county. Thus a tier of townships may be added on the west and east to the roposed Roosevelt county, and we will have one of the best counties in the state. The peoplz in the north part of Clearwater county are displeased with being placed in the same position as the Russian peasant, haying been robbed of their suffrage. This being the only way in which to regain their freedom, into which the “Imperious’’ legislature has placed the people of Clearwater county. $100 Reward, $100. An application by Judge Mon- tague of Crookston, acting as at- torney for the township of Spoon- er, was heard before Judge Spooner yesterday afternoon. The apphcation asks that the judgement_rendered Chas. W. Scrutchin for attorney’s fees, for organizing the township, amount- ing to $308.15, be set aside and Scrutchin compelled by an order ofthe court to refund the money. At the time the township was or- ganized, Mr. Scrutchin acted as attorney to conduct the proceed- ings and when his work was con- cluded there was no money in the treasury of the new town- ship with which to compensate him for the work. He entered suit and ohtained judgment. He afterwards garnished money in the hands of the county treasur- er received by him for ligquor li- censes issued by the board of county commissioners, amount- ing to $1,000, and Judge Spooner issued an order directing the treasurer to pay the amount which Mr. Scrutchin claimed. The points set up in the applica- tion areas follows: That the ser- vices were rendered before the township had been organized and therefore any bills against it were invalid; that the claim- has never’ been filed with the board of supervisors of the township against which it is drawn; and that the payment of the money was illegal, as the law provides that all money received for liquor licenses shall be used for build- ing and improving roads and bridges and must be applied directly to that cause. Judge Spooner has not entered judg- ment as yet. YARDS BURN AT TENSTRIKE Cedar Yards Go Up in Smoke With a Heavy Loss to Owners. No. The Chiropractic and the Osteopath both aim to put in place that which is out of place, to right that which is wrong; but the Path- ology- Diagnosis, Prognosis and Movements are entirely different. One of my patients, Mr. W. A. Casler, has taken both Chiropractic and Osteopoth treatments. The Chiropractic is ten times more direct in the adjustments and the results getting health ten times more thor- ough in one tenth of the.time than an Osteopath would. su BSCR[BE
