Will Drive Its Own “Drive” Down the River. Crookston Times: Officials of the Crookston Lumber company announce that the drive down river which is usnally contracted by the company, will this spring be undertaken under the direct management of the company’s employes and will not be let out. The Clearwater Logging com- ‘pany has for a great many years done the driving from Ciear- water riyer for the firm under contract. The Brown restaurant has been removed from the John Ross 2 | building near the Bazaar store to the Achenbach building on Third street. Mr. Brown has conduct- ed the establishment for over a year in Bemidji and has reen very successful as a restaurant man. The old quarters became too small for the accommodation of his large number of patrons and it was necessary for him to secure a larger building. He bas added a number of improve- ments to the equipment and ex- pects to do a good -business at the new stand. Opening Last Night. > The Berman Emporium held £ |its annual spring opening last night. The store was beauti- { | fully decorated and the display of ladies’ wearing apparel was as large and beautiful as in many of . | the large metropolitan establish ments. All visitors to the store were served with refreshments and an orchestra__ furnished music during the evening. Millinery Opening Suecessful. Mrs. Conger’s annual spring millinery opening held at the O’Leary & Bowser store. last night was a decided success. A large number of ladies attended the event and the beautiful dis- play of goods was much admired. Refreshments were served. Miss Emily LaFreniere of Northome is the guest of friends in Bemidji. GRAND CHIEF HERE TONIGHT Mrs. Laura Kavanaugh Will Attend Rathbone Sisters’ Meeting This Evening.
