BANK ROBBER HAVE A BUSY DAY NNLOS ANGELES > —_.o Two Concerns Are Held Up by Armed Men Who Escape Arrest. LOS ANGELES, Dec, 19—The Southwestern State Bank was robbed of $1,000 yesterday by a young man ‘who, walked into the bank with his hand wrapped in a bandage. He presented a check for $1,000 and a letter to B. R. Brundage, the cashier. “You aro looking into the barrel of @ revolver in this bandage," said the letter. “I want you to O. K. this check. Go to the paying teller with me and get the money."’ Mr. Brundage stepped with the man to the paying teller and directed him to eash the check, which ne did. “I want you to go with me,” the handit then told Mr. Brundage, and he forced the latter a block down te street, passing three policemen who stood chatting on the corner. “You may go now,” said ‘he ban- dit, “and thank you. You've been aw- fully kind.” With that he disappeared around a corner. The Walnut State Bank at Walnut Park, a suburb, was robbed yesterday afternoon by three masked men, who escaped with between $2,000 and $3,000 in currency. Two of the men pointed revolvers at the tellers while the third went and picked up the money. The bandits escaped in an automobile.
