With the prediction of her fricnds that Maude Adams will not appear on the stage again came the first knowl- edge to-day of the nature of the in- vention which has claimed her time and attention for a long timo and to which it is believed she wil! devote her life. It is understood to be a light that can be used for theatre illumination without interfering with throwing motion pictures on the screen. In other words, its use will do away with the necessity of dimming the house lights while pictures are being shown, The light is used in conjune- tlon with the are of the motion pic- ture projection machine.
