Reel Reviews By DON ALLEN We've beheld a Jot worse bil's, and ‘we've seen a lot better pills than the Broadway cine: offering for the week. But we e never seen many very much worse, ni very much better, So, one may judge from that that the week's film menu is running along on the rather smooth roadbed of fairishness Anyway, the films on for this week ny arét “The Young Diana’ at the Rivoll; ‘The Valley of Silent Men’ at the Rialto; “Dusk to Dawn" at the indred of the Dust” at the herlock Holmes’ Cristo” at thi Pat the Lyric; Central; The oner of Zenda’ at the Astor, “Forget-Me-Not at the Crite the latter half dozen holding over and continuing long runs. ( PASSING IN REVIEW y Peter B, Kyne's ‘Kindred of the Dust"’ ts just as good a film as it was a story. After beholding the picture at the Strand yesterday we came t this conclusion, and we cannot think Of @ more praisier plirase in which describe it. ~ The fact that the picture is based on another story of the ‘great out- doors’ (whatever that may mean) need not keep one away, for it isn’t that kind of an out-of-doors yarn at all. The author and Director R. A Walsh have seen to that. We enjoyed Miriam Cooper's por- trayal of Nan, the Queen of the Saw dust Pile. In fact, we enjoyed ‘Kin- dred of the Dust" as a pict And that's more than we have been able to say of 99 44-100 per cent. of the films we have seen during the last twelve month. We were disappoint ed—not so much in the film, but with the utter lack of silence on the purt of a couple of bobbed haired ones in the row behind us. During the un z of the film we learned via the r-hum machines that te sis a fright! Marte short, yaknow! All outerdateon’ AMUSEMENTS EAUTY, like truth, never is so precious as when it has been lost. Once Jost, you'd think it never could be regained. But see the marvelous new Marion Davies photoplay ‘The Young Diana," and learn hew science and nature may yet be claimed to work for lovely womanhood. A strange story, a fascinating romance, beautifully acted Marion Davies.
