On that day Health Commissioner Copeland will open the Baby Welf ¢ stations in the city for the registra- tiom. of whooping cough patients who will then be admitted to the Kiddie Klub Country Fund yuarters at Riverside Island, where they wi'! be kept until their cheeks are rosy again and their eyes glow. All o: the ex- penses of making these boys and girls well:and strong will be paid by the Kiddie Klub Country Fund and the city, through the Board of Health, which will furnish the dormitories and all ef the facilities of Riverside Island whieh is in Long Island Sound, just off the east shore of the Bronx. “There is no more tmportant task before us than curing completely all ‘whooping cough cases in the city,” waif Dr. Copeland to-day. “And there fs no cause in which I am more heartily and vitally interested. The Evening World and ‘Cousin Eleanor’ of the Kiddie Klub have my highest regard and will have my most en- thustastic co-operation. These outdoor playgrounds will be 75x100 feet in area and will be equipped with amusements suitable to the age of the children who will use them—sand piles and swings for the youngest, the three year old children, and see-suws and games for the older ones. Each building has also its indoor playroom to be used when the weather forbids Playing in the open. Here toys, games and books with which the children may amuse themselves will be found.
