State Music Clubs Promise Three Days a en) Annual Convention Opening June 5 Will Be Session of Unusual Programmes. When the second annual conven- tion of the State Federation of Music Clubs opens at the Hotel Pennsyl- vania, Juno 5, for three days, not only the members of the organization but also the city may prepare for a session of unusual programmes, with experts, both as theorists and artista to interpret them. Mme, Edna Marlione of Carnegie Hall, the President, has spared no pains to give a many sided represen- tation to the arts allied to music. A feature of special interest will be the morning concert June 6 of the Junior Harp Club, federated by Maud Mor- gan. Assisting artists will be Rob- ert Murray, the boy soprano, and Rosemary Thann, the girl soprano, now fitting herself for grand opera. ‘At the official federation, which fol- lows, the juniors will occupy a table of their own. An American com- posers’ table with Mrs. Harrison Ir- vine as hostess, and an artists’ table with Mrs. Clara Novello Davies as|——— hostess ranged. Among the speakers and guests will be Judge Charles L. Guy, Mrs. Fran- ces Elliot Clarke of the Victor Educa- tion Department, Bartlett E. James of Johns Hopkins, Mary Shaw, Bonnie MeLeary, the sculptress, Nan Bagley Stephens and C. M. Tremaine. On the opening night a musique dansant for the Columbia University Glee Club will be the attraction. Blanche D'Acosta will be the soloist. The dance after the music will con- tinue until 2 A. M. The final concert on Wednesday evening, the 7th, which introduces the New Yérk Welsh Glee Club, with Sue Harvard of the Metropolitan as the soloist; Carolyn Beebe as the pianist and Samuel Roberts, the ‘Welsh tenor, assisting, will be open \ke the others to the public. All in- formation may be obtained from Sada Cowen, No. 65 Central Park West, or Mrs. George Bllis, No. 825 Central Park West. The day sessions on Wednesday will be free to all interested. Musical educators and others will discuss prac- tical points in the progress of music. The State Federation of Music Clubs, Inc., allied with the National Federation, is still in its infancy, though it now comprehends thirty of the foremost music clubs of the larger cities, such as Rochester, Watertown, Albany, &c. ‘Mme.
