HARTFORD, Conn., Dec. 23.—The State polive are breaking up what Appears t be a well organized busl- ness of disposing of stolen New York automobiles in this city. Nine cars with engine numbers that have been defaced or altered so as to prevent identification of the machines were @eized here Wednesday and three more were seized yesterday, making Marly 50 in all. Besides the cars taken in this city the State police have taken one automobile in New Britain and one in the town of Som- ers, which, it is believed, have been stolen and then sold to their pres- ent owners as used cars. Seniors Took a Joy Trip to Broadway on Stolen Money. (Sorcial to The Evening World.) HARTFORD, Conn., Dec. 23.—Two seniors at the Hartford High School who were to graduate in February, Dave confessed to stealing money from the treasury of the school monthly magazine and also from the fund for Senior Night, to be held just previous to graduation, The money was spent on a “joy trip” to Broadway, and although the entire school knows the facts and expects dismissa} as the minimum punish- ment, Principal C.
