Dr. Antonio Stella, Chairman of the Provisional Com- mittee, presided, and a permanent mational committee of nearly 100 members was formed; thirteen of these are women and twenty are from States other than New York, Paul D. Cravath was elected Presi- dent of the Permahent National Com- mittee; Otto H. Kahn, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Metro- politan Opera Company, First Vice President; Dr. Antonio Stella, Second Vice President; Harry Harkness Flagler, Third Vice President; Felix M. Warburg, Treasurer; and Mrs. Helen Hartloy Jenkins, Secretary. Mrs. Caruso was named Honorary Vice Cheirman. Dr. Stella read this letter from her: “I feel that the movement to estab- lish a Caruso American memorial fund, which already has been 60 encouragingly started, {s one which would have particularly appealed to my husband.
