ABERDEEN, Md., Sept, 30.—A crater, 100 feet in diameter and 25 feet deep, was blown into the earth at the army proving grounds here to-day by a bomb weighing 4,300 pounds dropped from an altitude of 4,100 feet. This was the result of the first test of a new aerial bomb, the heaviest and probably the most destructive ever constructed.
