{TTY INVESTIGATES ELECTROCUTION OF GIRL BY LIGHT CORD Medical Examiner Demands to Know Why House Current he thumb. A discoloration on the girl's mm As Fatal. thumb and another on her right great — {ce indicated the current had passed MA ae As @ result of the death last night ®f Miss Beatrice Schwarzler, seven- teen, at No, 18 Rochelle Strect, City Toland, where she was spending the @ammer with her parents, Dr. John ¥. Riegelman, Medical Examiner, to- @y began an investigation to find @at why the electric wires of the cot- tage were carrying eo heavy a voltage. Mies Schwarzler was holding a portable electric light cord. When connection was made with the elec- trie light socket she fell to the floor. he died a short time later. According to the Medical Ex- miner, Miss Schwarzler was wear- ing a wet bathing suit at the time and her hands were damp after a swim. This fact tended to make the shock severe, but, he said, the wires of the cottage had to carry an un- usually high voltage in order to kill the girl. He has directed the com- pany supplying the electricity to give him a report immediatety. Dr. F. E. Lawrence, a neighbor, who was called to attend Miss Schwarzler, reported he found the girl breathing and this was protracted through his efforts, but he could not save her life. On the portable light cord Dr. Rie- gelmian found a worn spot. He ex- pressed the opinion that the current struck through this to the girl's through her body. Otto J. Schwarzier, father of the dead girl, is a builder, contractor and owner of garages and lives at No. 1882 Grand Concourse, the Brunt. —— TILLIE WEISMAN QUEEN OF ARVERNE CARNIVAL ‘Will Ride Parade This Miss Tillie Weisman of Weisman's Inn, Beach 63d Street, Arverne, L. 1, has been elected Queen of the Arverne Carnival, and will ride in splendor in the float parade this afternoon.
