THE NEW PLAYS. Friars’ Jamboree | Lots of Fun. | BY CHARLES DARNTON Except for the endman who said he had opened an agency for Ford cars in Arverne, everybody was happy last night at the Cort Theatre, where | jolly Friars started their jamboree ‘with a white face minstrel show. The tun was fast and even furious when Willie Collier interrupted Frank ‘Tinney as be was in the throes of a riddie, and then almost got into a fight—almost, mind you—with Jim Corbett over the ownership of the evening clothes worn by tho gentle- manly interlocutor. Although Mr. Cor- bett protested, he didn't want to dis- cuss fighting. Tinney held to the sub- Jeet and argued that no one could get hurt talking about it All the jabs, of course, were at the expense of Corbett, who was kind enough not to kill anybody. Harry Fox, kdiward Dowling and Lew Brice helped along the fun, and there were good songs and clever dancing. As an after-piece there was George Cohan’s burlesque of a crook play, “The Farrell Case,” in which all the characters were Killed and piled up neatly, Lucille Chal fant, Dionde loveliness, sang ‘herself into markable exhibition of dancing, and others aided i making the jamboree lots of fun. a DISCORD, NOT HARMONY, AT MUSICAL MEETING. Protective Union Members Can't Agree on Course to Follow Regarding Expulston, Customary methods of conducting a business meeting, majority control and all the other generally accepted rule: terday afternoon in a stormy the Musical Mutual Protectiv at Yorkvile Casino when the org: tion met to attempt to decide upon its American Federation of Musicians on Monday. After an hour of noisy and at times threatening wrangling between the fac- tion of the body loyal to Joseph 3%. Weber, head of the Federation of Mu- sicians, and the disloyal ones, a m. festo was issued by the anti-W forces defying Mr. Weber and federation and repeating its belief that the Mutual Union would grow in &trength until it would not be depen- dent upon the federation. The trouble began when a motion was made to send a committee of tie members*to Mr. Weber to attempt to ‘The anti-Webet meeng adjourn, while the Weber m declared that euch action would be d orderly, undignified and unbusinesslike. The meeting broke up in an uproar. Another jon, it was said, will be held to-d: HERMAN’S U. S. Army Shoes Genuine Munson Lasts. Reg- ulation Army Shoe.
