CALLS 20 PER CENT. CITY WAGE BOOST “PLUM HARVEST” ‘ Pe eT La Guuardia Will Fight for Alternative in Form of a | Graduated Salary Scale. + Refusing to agree to the flat 20 per cent, increase in salaries of all city employees on the ground that the highly paid political favorites of Tammany Hall wiil be the greatest beretteiaries, Aldermanic. President La Guardia announced to-day that he will submit an alternative in the form of a graduated salary scale plan which will give a square deal to the poorly paid employees. ‘ "I am going to fight to the last ditch to upset this unfair, inequit- able 20 per cent plan,” said President La Guardia, “It ts the biggest plum gathering harvest arranged by poll- ticians in some time.
