Mr. Joseph Romeo of No. 1764 Madison Avenue, Harrison, N, Y., e@hthered new fame, of a sort, in & ind new balcony scene, with a 200- pound heroine, The story came out in the trial of the divorce suit of Francesco Fiaman, also of Harrison, against Agnes, his wife, naming Romeo, Supreme Court Justice Seeger has heard the evidence at White Plains and reserved de- cision, Mr, Fiaman says he came home quietly one evening and watched the balcony scene, The acting did not please him. No eggs being handy, he picked up a rock, but Romeo van- ished, he said, and a moment later the sound of two soft voices came down-from the ere ce Mr. Fiaman climbed up dnd stuck his head over ‘the railing. Romeo fled. Then there were words between hus- band and wife. He told the court he tried to chok his wife, but found himself unequal to the task, owing to the unusyal cir- eumference of her neck and the Iim- Me lowed going to swallow some more, but was dissuaded by a friend. Mra. Fiaman testified: “Judge, | love my husband.” As for Romeo, he said he had merely made a business call on the heroine, and that his hurried depar- ture was taken only because her hus- band showed indications of being ex- cite ‘4 0 0, P.
