In fact, many of the names are positively misleading, although it is doubtful if any person is ever actually deceived thereby. Take for example, Seco Silk, ‘Tezzo Silk, Suesine Silk, A. B, C. Silk ond Fashion Silk. One might imagine from their names that they were all silk. As a matter of fact, they are all mix- tures of cotton and silk, sort of “Fifty-Fifties,” as it were, of tilk and cotton mulls. Satines and Sateens are all cotton, and so are the percaline linings, Marvel Silk end Laurel Silk. Venetian Satin and the old- time Farmer's Setin are all cot- ton, and ec are Moreen and Soisette. Flannelette, Duckling Fleece, Outing Flannel and Canton Flan- nel ere not flannel at all so far as wool goes. They are fabrics nade entirely of cotton. Scotch flannel is part wool and part cotton, and it does not necessarily come from Scotland. A great dea) of fine Scotch flannel is made in this country. And, by the w French Twill Flannel is o@ UL. SA prod ‘ Linon, Nearlinen and Linene are made of cotton. Not one of them hus even a bowing ecquain tance with @ thread of flax. Nearlinen is of British manu facture. Then, too, there are silk and cotton Poplins, Crepe de Chines, Tussahs and China Silks.
