| and Players | By BIDE DUDLEY al RTHUR HAMMBRSTEIN, in association with Lee Ghubert, is to produce a new play by Bdward Clark entitled “De Luxe An- nie,” on April 30 at the Shubert Thea- tre, New Haven. It is founded on a short etory of the same name by Gea- men Lockwood. The play is described as @ melodrama of mystery and sur- prise, After @ spring tryout of two weeks the play will be put aside till fall, when it will be seen on Broadway in @ Shubert Theatre In the tryout cast will be Rita Jolivet, Robert Mc- Wade, Vincent Serrano, Frank Gil- more, Mary Hall, Kdouard Durant, Peray Pollock, Harry Burkbard, Jack fii, Henry W. Pemberton and Marcia Harris. Kéward Clark is oo-author with Otto Hauerbach of ¢he book and lyrics ot “You're in Love.” Away last Au- gust a play of his called “Coat Tati«’ was produced by Mr. Hammerstein at the Cort Theatre.
