WANAMAKER'’S | Report of Special Examiners Merchandise is by far the best we have seen for any sale in the Men’s Clothing Store, . ° . Materials are of excellent quality and attractive in design and pattern, ° ° . Workmanship and style up to the reg- ular Wanamaker standard. * ° e Patterns are dignified and distinctive, ° ° * Every suit and overcoat has been in- spected and passed by the regular ex- aminers in the receiving rooms. In addi- tion we havo examined several hundred garments at random and it {s an impres- sive fact that the tailoring throughout is neat and clean—up to Wanamaker stand- ard in every detail, New purchases of each grade have been compared with clothing selling in regular stock at these grade prices and found to be of equal value, WANAMAKER’S | WANAMAKER'’S | WANAMAKER’S preme in its field. Beginning at 7.30 TOMORROW--TUESDAY MORNING |) The Great Annual Winter SALE of CLOTHING~at Wanamaker cN 4,797 Suits and 3,818 Overcoats In the “Big” Sale of the Year This is the dominant Sale of the year. It brings to it merchants from as 9 It is su- far away as Denver—just to study its methods and results. It gives to the public more-clothing-for-its- money, in volume, variety and general satisfaction, than any other opportunity we know of. It is a Cooperative Sale Fifteen of our regular manufacturers contribute. To eight makers of our highest grade clothing we gave months ago large orders in excess of our regular stocks to be made up in their dull months between active manufacturing seasons at about cost of materials and labor. We picked out the fabrics, chose the patterns, arranged the scale of sizes and insisted that everything be made according to the re; lar Wanamaker standard specifications as to fabric, trimming, tailoring, pattern, cut and style. From the other seven manufacturers we picked certain lots out of their open stocks where they reached Wanamaker standards and had other lots made to order from our own models, A Total of $178,123 At the New Lower Selling Prices To the left on this page is a complete analysis of the Sale made from our own and manufacturers’ stock sheets. The grades listed indicate the prices at which we would have sold the newly purchased suits and overcoats had we bought them for regular stock, By their side in the sale (and in the analytical table) and thereby attesting these grades, are certain quantities of clothing from our own regular stocks at prices reduced to meet the competition of the new purchases. Any man who deals in woolens will certify that the fabrics are quite remarkable considering the fast rising cost of the market. The patterns each visitor will see for himself. Our own opinion is that never before in a sale have we offered a variety of fabrics so generally good. From first to last they compare with our own carefully selected regular stocks. The “inside” of the garments, especially the tailoring which cannot all be seen but which will show in the wear, is guaranteed as though full price were paid. Almost all of the suits are in fancy patterns, Young Men Will Delight especially in the beautiful fabrics and hang of the suits at $18.50 and $24.50 and in the overcoats at $16.50. The overcoats at $ 50 are both fancy and staple; those at $26.50 are the conservative Chesterfield model which must be in the wardrobe of every man—all of these are lined with silk. A Hundred Extra Salesmen recruited from the ranks of men who know clothing and how to fit. it, together with a large extra corps of fitters, stock-people and helpers, and additional fitting rooms, will be ready to expedite the sale and make things move smoothly and satisfactorily, Of Course, if you want one of our $75 overcoats for $26.50 (15 in the sale) or any other of the limited quantities it will be wise to be here early in the morning—at every preceding sale of this kind there have been many men waiting for the doors to open at 7:30, JOHN WANAMAKER Broadway at Ninth Street, New York i] i ' ' i : y sere
