CHTHUAHUA, June 8&—A mob, numbering one thousand persons at- tacked the American Consulate last night, tore down the official consulate shield over the door and shattered all the windows. Gen. Lopez rushed troops to the consulate and drove the mob away. ‘ ‘The crowd then swarmed toward the Foreign Club. Missiles were hurled through the windows, the doors were broken duwn and attempts made to burn the building. TOMS RIVER, N. J, June 8— Drtven out of her course In a north- east storm the Norwegian bark Ar- tensis went ashore near here shortly vefore daylight to-day. The crew, sending up distress signals, clung to the rigging until daylight, when the coast guard, unable to reach them in a lifeboat, decided to rig up a breeches buoy.
