An explosion in the electrical testing laboratories, on the ground floor of the four-story brick building, at East End Avenue and East Hightieth Street, early this morning shattered windows in the neighborhood and brought resi- dents to the windows of their homes in alarm. Fire followed tho explosion, causing amall damage. Tho blaze was extin- guished before fire apparatus arrived. The explosion was caused by a defec- tive electrical furnace, It is said the half dozen chemists in the laboratory Test were making tests for a product to be| used in the European wa BACKING DOWN TO MEET THE ISSUE Excesses that Mean Punishment Swift and Certain. Laws can be broken with impunity and offenders escape punishment for! awhile, but the day comes sooner or} later when the consequences must be faced. This refers particularly to Nature's Laws. They must be obeyed. Bodily discomfort, loss of sleep, appetite and mental capacity follow in the wake of transgression, and unless corrected in time the condition is liable to become chronic. A suggestion of inestimable value is the taking of Johann Hoff's Malt Extract with meals. This justly cele- brated tonic food possesses digestive properties that have been recognized and endorsed by high medical authori- ties, is a natural blood, bone and muscle maker, and @ brain and nerve food unequalled. ; Can be procured from any first class druggist and the genuine Johann Hoff's should be insisted upon.—Advt.
