THE EVENING WORLD, MONDAY, OCTOBER 25, 1915. eta, GeTate a7 auction ore. GeraTe «7 sauces FEAL GeTaTe af aucrion PrAL CeTATE aT auction, | ata SeTaTe at avorion, "ta. eerere af euene@. TO MEN OF COMMON SENSE ee AND BUSINESS ABILITY tg os The Simple Truth canoer 15 YEARS AGO Broadway and vicinity above 110th St. was a dirt road, with Bloomingdale Asylum the only building in sight. Lots were ee "y worth about $4,000 to $8,000 each. To-day Columbia University is there, surrounded by solid blocks of 6 to 12 story apartment “heart, be # houses. To-day lots are worth $15,000 to $75,000 each. 10 YEARS AGO Broadway and vicinity above 135th St. there were only a few scattered houses. Lots were worth about $3,500 to $7,500 each, To-day it is solidly built up. Lots are worth $10,000 to $40,000 each. 6 YEA A R Ss AGO at 1818 St., Broadway and St. Nicholas Ave. was all vacant lots. Lots were worth in this vicinity about $3,500 to $6,000 each. To- day it's a thickly populated apartment house district. Lots are worth $10,000 to $30,000 each. 4 YEARS AGO the Dyckman District around 207th St. was a wilderness. To-day it is well built up and you can see it growing overnight with 5 and 6 story apartment houses. 2 YEARS AGO there were only a few frame houses around Broadway and 231st St. In the last year 20 to 30 new § and 6 story apartment houses have been built. WITHIN THE LAST 30 DAYS the erection of apartment houses has started at 238th St. and Broadway. Go up and see them: IT IS A FAIR STATEMENT TO MAKE that within 5 years there will not be a lot around 238th St. and Broadway worth less than $6,000 to $25,000 each. You can’t buy any at private sale to-day for less than $3,500 to $6,500 each. TO-MORROW we are going to sell 329 lots around Broadway and 238th St. for whatever they will bring (and nobody seems to want them). U. S. STEEL A YEAR AGO was selling at $40. Nobody wanted it. To-day it is selling at $86 per share. If you could buy some at $40 a share you would jump at it, wouldn’t you? Grand ther YOU MAY BE ABLE TO BUY LOTS intrinsically worth to-day $3,000 to $6,000 each for $600, $800 or $1,000 each—perhaps less—(only 4 ~~ noes 30% cash)—if you would buy Steel at $40 why shouldn't you buy these lots at such prices? In a few years this neighborhood will be built up, these same lots worth $6,000 to $25,000 each. Can there be a safer, sounder or saner way of investing a few hundred RANDRETH dollars? Are you not sure to make money? And you can’t lose. PILLS IF _ YOU HAVE ANY PAPER PROFITS in Wall Street, if the market turns you are apt to lose it all. Put some of those profits in have kept her well for many these lots; you are sure to have something and make money besides. years, by taking one or two -| every night. THERE IS ALWAYS A PERIOD when Real Estate takes a sudden jump. That period is due now, and the buyers at this sale will have ete one of the beat laxatives bought at the bottom and get the benefit of the quick rise in Real Estate. ma Fetter: roe 238th St. Is the Last Station of the Subway before Van Cortlandt Park. : Ce This Is the Last 3 Blocks in the City where Broadway has two business sides. i a This Is the Last Sale of Lots on or near Broadway, TREN Ses ka ee bt in His Great Gilelle SHERLOCK HOLMES where lots can or will ever be sold at any such prices as it looks as if these lots were going to be sold for at the present writing.
