But as the war stocks seem never content unless they are doing some- thing, they began matters by show- ing weaknesses here and there. The belief that Miss Elvira Dolores Guidone, daughter of a Hartford, Conn., physician, who disappearedBn Monday when visit relatives here, is being forelbl: detained by some one who lured bi from the train, is held by her cousin, Paul Guidone, of No. 2445 Grand Ave- nue. to reveal any eign of her, and a gen- eral alarm has been sent out by the police, § “I am eure my cousin has not dis- appeared of her own free will,” Mr, Guidone eid to-day, “and although aa yet we have discovered nothing to substantiate my bellef, I think it possible she might have been drugged in some way. We received a letter stating she would arrive here Mon- day morning at 11 o'clock, and there was nothing in it to indicate that she had planned otherwise. She was @ quiet girl not given to adventures.” The relatives of the girl are being aided in the search for her by Capt. Ralph L. Bess had taken a decided fancy to Bobbie the moment she arrived from Africa, and she proceeded to demonstrate her affec- tion in the primitive fashion of the jungle by pestering Bobbie almost to death.
