Lenahan had just crossed the Queensborough Bridge from Long Island City and driven into Fifty-ninth Street on the wrong side of the thoroughfare. The horses became restless at the clanging of car bells and the honking of auto- mobiles and went rearing and plung- ing into the avenue. Men yelled to the driver and girls, screaming, ran in all directions. A| & panic ensued, Miss Nuzzo, in trying to get out of the way, ran into the horses and was knocked down, one | & or more of the truck wheels passing | It over her. The two Darguila sisters were next caughg by the horses in the scattering crowd and were knocked down, but, so far as could be learned, were not run over. ‘The horses swerved into Second Avenug.
