Exercise and diet are two essentially important factors in the busi- ness of acquiring a healthful, attractive figure. A third factor which de- serves careful consideration is the bath. There ‘e certain systems of reduction which depend altogether, or almost altogether, upon bathing. To the indolent stout woman—and indo- the purus with strong alum water in heavy, firm strokes, or, if you prefer, use the alcohol formula which I have given you above, after the brisk rub wrap the body in a warm bathrobe before leaving the hot bathroom, pay into bed, tuck yourself up un- der light weight but warm bed cov- ering, and perspire for at least half an hour, times in succession, and then, if you are not too tired, try alternating the right and left knees. The movement is particularly valuable for the stout ‘woman, because by working ‘both arms and legs it reduces the bust measurement at the same time that it takes off weight. Also the balancing on one leg, even though assisted by the wand, tends to increase the poise and grace of the person taking the exercise. I have told you to begin by trying the exer- cise five times per leg, but you should increase the number of repetitions each day until you aré aple to per- form them fifty times wigpout stop- ping. I think you will Rnd these wand exercises as enjoyable as they are helpful, and I have for you @ number that are slightly more diff- cult when you have mastered the simple ones published to-day.
