SHOT DEAD AT HONE, AND WIFE IS HELD Crime Due to Jealousy, Thinks Sheriff, Who Mentions Name of Actress. Frederick R. Seaton, thirty-five years old, an actor, was shot and killed to-day on the porch of his home on Elm avenue, in Bogota, N. J., across the river from Hackensack. His thirty-two-year-old wife is locked up in the Hackensack jail charged with committing the crime. While walking along the tracks of the West Shore Railroad, Frank Cox, @ track foreman, practically was an eyewitness to the shooting. The Sea- ton house rear yard adjoins the track and Cox says he could nee the actor sitting on the back porch. He heard voices, although at first he could not #06 anyone else. Then, acocrding to Cox, Seaton got up from his chair and started toward the door when two shots sounded. He saw the actor fal and says that while he saw Mrs, Seaton standing in the doorway at that moment he did not seo her fire the shots. Cox raised an alarm and ran to the poroh, A Odoctor arrived and found one bullet had entered the upper jaw and gone through the man’s head, while the other was imbedded in his left breast. Seaton had died instantly. Sheriff Heath was summoned fro: Hackensack. Ho rated to the acene in hia automobile, placed Mrs. Seaton under arrest and took her to jail. He sald he believed jealousy may have caused the crime and mentioned tho name of anothr actress. Seaton was formerly with one of George M, Cohan's companies and last year was with Joseph Hart's “Green Beetle,” in vaudeville.
