The plan is to give every candidate a chance to make the varsity eight. There are about one hundred men in the equad now and they will be divided into Classes. A varsity squad of a specified number of men will be main- tained, based upon men who now hold seats in the first varsity boat. As soon as « member of @ class crew shows sufficient ability he will be shipped to the varsity squad and a varsity man will be retired to his class boat. By this method the new coaches expect to sift down the entire squad until the best men hold seats in the firat boat. Class crews will receive substantially the same coaching as the varsity. Captains of the clase crews, all of whom were elected by crew men of their own class, are: Senior boat, Livingston Rogers, Hyde Para, N. junior boat, Erskine Birch Harrison, Kansas City, Mo.; sopho- more boat, Alexander McKee Munson, York Harbor, Me.
