McCall, while acting as counsel for the New York Life Insurance Company in 1900, Passed a check for $28,000 out of the “Yellow Dog” Fund to Cor- nelius Bliss, Treasurer of the Republican National Committee, to be used in defeating William J. Bryan, the Democratic nominee for President, and John B, Stanchfield, the Democratic nominee for Governor, Alexander C. MacNulty of the staff of the Corporation Counsel dug up the records from the testimony given in the Armstrong insurance investigation in 1905. Mr. MacNulty made his accusation public in the form of a letter to Charles F, Murphy. He asked Mr. Murphy why Democrats who supported Bryan and Stanchfield in 1900 should be asked to support Judge mcCall to-day, The records of the Armstrong investigation show that Judge y| McCall, acting as counsel tor the New York Life Insurance Company, really contributed $35,500 to the Republican campaign fund of 1900, He paid $7,500 in cash and $28,000 by chee! The late John A. MoCall, President of the New York Life Insurance Company and brother of Edwrad E.
