Th ‘ttention ‘of the Board of Directors was called to the fact that the drug had been used. ‘A meeting of the directors was called, dat which Allen Wardwell, the son o the donor_of the hal; million of dotiars, prosided This was to ascertain wheth- er the deed of gift had been invail- dated. ‘The Investigation by the Medical Board of the hospital showed, accord- ing to testimony heard last night, that Dr. Stewart charges Dr, Neff with not @ivulging to the Board that he dis- covered the nurse had made an error and doubled the dose prescribed for the patient. ‘The Medical Board of the hospital DRUG UNDER BAN GIVEN Prescription Caused Quarrel Between Doctors That Lasts Three Years. ago a pretty, dark-eyed in the Red Cross Hos- Pital on Central Park West misunder- stood the directions of Dr. Dougias Stewart of No. 128 West Eighty- @ixth treet and made an tncurrect entry in a patient's chart. Wardw former secretary of the Standard Oli Company, to the Red Cross Hospital, and culminated, after three years of Ditterness, in charges hi last night by the Board of Censors of the New York Medical Society againgt Dr, Neff, with Dr. Stewart in the role of com- plainant. When Mr. Wardwell died he left half @ million dollars to tho hospital with the understanding that it should be revoked if the hospital allowed habdit-making drugs to be prescribed to patients. Mr. Wardwell recognized the fact, however, that at times there 4s absolute necessity for such drugs to be administered and a loop-hole was left for their use, when such treat- ment was absolutely necessary. Last night the Board of Censors sat to hear three specific charges made by Dr. fMewart against Dr. Neff, both of whom were at one time connected with the Red Cross Hospital. Two of the charges ‘were considered, the board sitting until early this morning, but the third was dismissed as irrelevant.
