KID BIDDLE’S PINK TIGHTS HAD JACK O'BRIEN DAZZLED oe Society Man Dances Around Ring as Though in Cotil‘on and Tires Himself Out Early by Running. HE great Biddle-O'Brien battle | is history. On Saturday | night Anthony J, Drexel Bid-| die, leader c. Philadelphia's pink| tea set, so to speak, met Philadelphia Jack O'Brien, the professional fighter. They fought four rounds in the ring of the Merion Cricket Club at Haverford, Pa. It was without doubt the flercest and blood{est four round battle ever pulled off in that arena—as well as the first. There waz no knockout, but so furiously did the Social Lion carry the fight to O'Brien that the timekeeper was forced to cut each of the rounds short to save Mr. Biddle from becoming fatally winded. For weeks Philadelphia socie has been on tiptoe for the great event. Society has always claimed that Mr. Biddle carried a kick in either mitt that would make him a new fortune if he lost a few millions and was reduced to earning his living. Mr. Biddle has been in the habit of retaining Bob Fitzsimmons as @ sparring partner and going into secret training for some mysterious pur- Pose.
