LOUIS, June %.—Hermis, the great Eastern race horse, ran second to-day at the fair gounds in the big $50,000 World's Fair Handicap. Colonial, one of the choices, won by two lengths, and Moharib was third. The time was 2.0015. Fifty thousand saw the Handicap run. Gov. Odell and friends from New York S¥cre among the prominent box-holders. ‘Hundreds who appiled were too late for boxes or reserved seats and mingled with the crowds. ‘Tho track was heavy. Wittul developed a strong following during the meeting when it became certain that the track cunditions would Prove a handicap to Hermis. Colonial Girl also was favored despite the protests of her owner that the heavy going operated against her chances. ‘Old Stone was regarded as one of the best cytsiders with a chance, McGee was scratched from the big race and Bugler added.
