Less than twenty yards from the stage O'Gara, who took in the situa- tion at a glance, ran out into the road, Krebbed the bridle of the horse near- gst him and by sheer strength forced them out of thg line of the stage. He was thrown down for a second, but ed his feet and actually shoved the runaways to the curb, where by a dexterous turn, no threw one of them off his feet. Of course,’ the other one went down too. and after silding along the asphalt a way, both came.go & stop. The right foreleg of one of the horses was broken by the fall and he had to he shot. The other horse was badly cut and bruised, but not fatally hurt. O'Gara was shaken up and said that his muscles were very sore, but oth wise was not injured. A big crowd gathered around the young Irishman and congratulated him on his feat. Policoman Mehrer, who saw the whola thing, sald it was one of the sandiest feats he had ever wit- nessed.
