WALL STREET ATTACK ON KEENE His Market Interests Under Fire and Efforts Being Made to Discredit His Brokers on the Stock Exchange. BOF A vigorous campaign is being con- ducted against James R. Keene. His stock market interests have been and are still being attacked at every point by the powerful combinations arrayed @gainst him Not only that, but an energetic de- mand Is being made on the Board of Governors of the Stock Exchange to in- vestigate charges that his brokers have participated in a conspiracy to depress ‘Metropolitan stock. The demand fs that the brokers supposed to be concerned be summoned before the Governors and compelled to answer accusations of which, if they are found guilty, would subject them to severe discipline, amounting even to expulsion. It cannot be ascertained that the Governors are giving serious considera- tlon to these demands, and the broke ers who have been named as possible | defendants profess to make light of the | reports. They deny point blank that) they have conspired against the Metro- politan or any other property, and | make no concealment of the fact that they regard the efforts of the Metro- po'itan party in trying to implicate) them as uncalled for and as the purest | buncombe.
