Washburne, of No, 48 West One Hundred and Twenty-cighth street, had dust left his buggy to call upon a pa- tient at One Hundrei and Fifty-fifth atreet and St. Nichols place this after noon when his horse became frightened at a passing lumber wagon and ran ve Bugene Clark, the doctor's coachman, was In the buggy and yelled to Bicycle Policeman Mullarkey to come to his ald. Mullarkey pedalled furiously in pursuit of the runaway and was abreast of the flying animal at One Hundred and For- tleth street, when the horse shied and the buggy upset, throwing Clark out upon the sidewalk. ‘With the upturned buggy trailing be- hind, the frightened horse continued at top speed down the thoroughfare to One Hundred and Thirtieth street, into which it turned. By this time nothing but the sbafts of the buggy were attached to the horse. Two bicyotists, John Burton and Will- &lam Morris, of Bedford Park, who were proceeding along through One Hundred and Thirtieth street, could not got out of the way of the horse and were thrown from thelr wheels. They were not badly burt.
