Charles S, Shivler, for twenty-five years secretary and treasurer of the American District Telegraph Com- pany, is under arrest and in the cue- tody of District-Attorney Jerome on a charge of having stolen in the last seven years a sum between $16,000 ompany. The Grand Jury returned three indictments, each charging grand larceny in the second degree, against Shivler at 1.30 P. M. to-day. Each indictment alleges a specific instance of larceny. Shivler was taken before Justice Fos- ter this afternoon and an the advice of his attorney, F. L.
