The evidence so far against the Cap tain has been furnished by citizens. To day's witnesses were Parkhurst agents, who testimony was intendel to sub stantiate that already heard. “I shall probably call Mrs, Herrmann during the trial,” Mr, Moss said to an “Evening World" reporter. “I shall en- deavor to show by her that Capt. Eakine was aware of the existence of disreputas ble places in his precinct. Mrs, Herrmann was the Lexow witness who remained in Jersey City a week locked up. She was intercepted on her way here from (hicago. “Angel” Dennett, of Society, gave testimony regarding the identity of the woman, with whom he visited alleged disorderly places in the Mercer Street Precinct, Sigmund Meltelburger, another agent of the society, swore he Visited the saloon of Frank Stevenson, formerly backer of Jake Kilrain and owner of “The Side" at Thompson and West Third street, March 6, and saw a number of women there. Some were singing, some were drunk and some were sober, He was introduced by the bartender to one Maggie Farrington there and with her visited & West Third street.
