APPLESAUCE SAYS the concensus of opinion ia} Young, civil engineer a ban : Something Newin News From the Legislature! OR 60 days, beginning Monday, the state legisla- ture will function. To the legislators themselves, every faint creak of the legislative machinery is something of ponderous circumstance, In their. minds, and in the minds of many others, every wheeze of the law-making ‘ma- chinery mplified over the loud speaker into some- thing of “vital importance.” But to the public at large, it is patent that much of the work of the legislature goes for naught. They realize that much of the “heavy work” going on at Olympia is for the benefit of politicians and lobbyists only. The Star will endeavor, at this session, to do so’ thing new. It will reproduce, a sort of ea understood and interesting moving picture, what going on—FROM THE STANDPOINT OF THE PUBLIC. It will eliminate the hocus-pocus and the humbo- jumbo. It will present only the news, as it interests . Average’ Man. espondents will handle the routine news briefly. Marie Rowe Dunbar, wife of the attorney gene will tell what’s going on from “the woman’s poin’ of view.” Jim Marshall will write a daily letter “to the folks,” in which he will give you a continuous bird's- just as if he were writ- ing of his impressions to his own folks at home. To get the legislative news RIGHT, read The Star! rs S h
