The new building, 40 feet wide by 120 feet long, consisting of two stories and the full basement, adds more than 14,000 square feet of floor space to The Star’s original building. In addition to the new building, The Star has installed, during the past year, equipment in various departments, and a new octuple press costing $80,000 is now under construction and will be installed next year. This big expansion in building and in equipment has been necessitated by The Star’s rapid growth both in cir- culation and in advertising. For twenty-five years The Star has been growing with Seattle and this year, 1923, will stand out as one of the best of its history. Every day for five years more people by 10,000 to 15,000 have subscribed for The Star than for any other paper in the State of Washington.
