ee Se ee ae co ee _THE SEATTLE STAR GUARANTEED ~ Fuel Satisfaction “ Black Diamond South "Prairie Lump Coals For more than fifty years these coals have constituted the quality ndard for coal in Western Ameri- We have never been able to pro- ce sufficient lump coal from these to supply the demand. Recent us to market a slightly greater ton- of lump coal. Black Diamond is free burning and South Prai- ° coal will coke. There is NO better anywhere at any price. Our ce is $12.25 per ton at the bunkers. e Newcastle and Issaquah The popular low prices of these two coals recommend them to a great many people. The slight in- crease in ash is balanced by the low price. Users declare Newcastle and Issaquah at their prices to be the most economical coals on this mar- ket. These two mines are among the oldest now being operated in the Pacific Northwest. A great number of the users of these coals have patronized them for a score of years. Newcastle Lump at the bunkers is $8.50; Issaquah Lump is $8.20 and Issaquah Nut is $7.20. Diamond Briquets Diamond Briquet sales are break- ing all previous records. January 1923 sales more than doubled January 1922. Diamond Briquets contain NO lignite or sub-bitumi- nous coal whatsoever. They are manufactured solely from the small- er sizes of Black Diamond and South Prairie coals. They contain less than 10% ash and no clinkers. One-third of their content is South Prairie Coking Coal, thereby insuring a last- ing, steady fuel. Diamond Briquets are in reality Bituminous Lump Coal at very much less than the cost of such coal. The price at the bunkers is $9.90 per ton. Black Diamond — South Prairie Furnace Blend We reserve the small buckwheat . coal from these two mines for the manufacture of Diamond Briquets. The lump coal is screened and sold. at a higher price. The sizes between these extremes are used by steam- ships which travel the seven seas, by railroads and industrial plants and by thousands of householders — throughout the Northwest. The easiest way to reduce the coal bill for any heating plant by at least : one-third is to burn furnace coal. Note the saving when compared with lump coal. Our furnace blend of Black Diamond and South Prairie ~ sells for $7.55 at the bunkers. Each fuel mentioned above is positively guaranteed to be absolutely satisfactory in your home and according to your own standards of judgment.
