Such darlings! Each thing was so trol appeals to all temperaments for it makes distinctive, and from tho most exclusive mod- possible the expression of one’s self in music. Irreproachable Spring has come, with ite fragrance and many little suggestions of the out-of-doors GOWNS life. The shops of Seattle are just filled with BLOUSES LEATHER NOVELTIES At the Shop of HELEN IGOE 1522 Second Avenue “The Roamer is a wonderful car. | am glad to have had the opportunity of perdonally en- joying its luxurious comfort in my shopping tour of Seattle.” Rath St. Denis. is the choice of fastidious motorists everywhere. ‘UNITED MOTORS CO. A. F. HAWKINSON, Manager East Pine at Bellevue East 9 STATE DISTRIBUTORS Gainty creations and things that are in ac cordance with the buoyant frestiness of the season, Se ue In a luxurious Roamer, which was #0 com fortable and cozy, I started out yesterday on & Uttle tour of the exclusive shops. The ma- chine waa waiting for me at the curb of the Hotel Washington. 1 am very partial to the Roamer, for its graceful lines make it a hand somely attractive car, June brides—and it will soon be the sea son—will find their heaven in the daintily furnished bungalow, which is on exhibition in the Standard Furniture company’s store. It ia & complete six-room home, arranged with dainty discrimination A downy davenport, a big chair before the fireplace, a piano and the soft light of a Piano-lamp, gave the front room an air of elegance and coziness. The dining room was furnished in Circassian walnut, a table, /#ix chairs with biue-tapestried seats and a buffet of walnut. The front bedroom was also of dark walnut. The spare room was fitted in white ivory, which gave it a cheery richness, Gowns—and the daintiest of creations were shown me at Helen Igoc's exclusive gown shop. What trousseaus for the June bride! Then there were going-awny dresses, lovely ingerie, chiffon dinner dresses for rex taurant frocks, dressy one-piece tailored tray clers and designers. Flowers and spring are rynonymous. And spring was surely present in fragrant bunches at the Hollywood Gardens, When I entered the store, the flowers transported me into @ realm of beauty, and I just softly careesed the Ilacs, the sweet peas, peonies, iris, daisies, roses and the tulips, Then {nto a world of music we whirled tn the big Roamer. At the Seattle Music House, the Brunswick phonographs were on exhibi tion, There were many styles of cabinet, Italian Renaissance model. Japanese model, mahogany and oak in varied sizes, Each was distinctive and suited to a different setting For mine, I was charmed with the little Jay» anene model, with its daintily pictured tea houne and parasols. It in the Brunswick Ultona, a distinctly new invention, which makes the Brunswick play so perfectly all records, Wonders, they say, will never cease. The wonder of the Soloelie, which I heard played at the Montelius Music House, filled me with raptures. It is the marvelous tone color, which is made possible with the Soloelle that lifte {t out of the player-plano class and makes it an instrument of individuality, The Soloetie permits the separation of me! ody and accompaniment and provides a com- plete control over the plano hammer, which It is no seldom that millinery shops aim to fit personality rather than the pocketbook, that I was indeed charmed with my visit to Violet Tatum's exclusive little place. Even the atmosphere of the shop seems to harmon- ize with the idea of distinctiveness which Mins Tatum endeavors to express in her won- derful millinery. She showed a wonderful variety of sport hats of straws and georgette. Bach hat had its own little touch of individ- uality which was meant to emphasize the character of the sult to be worn with it. An a rule I am very particular about shoes. 1 insist that they shall not pinch the feet. If they do I call them atrocities, But the sum- mer shoes they showed me at the Victoria Shoe Store were exquisite. Colonial pumps and oxfords of all styles in white, dark brown, field mouse and grays held a strong appeal while on the economy mezzanine floor, the reasonableness of the prices for such dainty little footwear presented a striking feature. ‘The Victoria Store has a large as sortment of buckles for pumps in all designs and sizes. But the greatest surprise and delight came when I entered the Jewelry store of Jay E. De Roy. In all my travels I have never seen such distinctive designs and wonders in jew- elry. Each piece was a charm of exquisite richness because of its individual simplicity and taste, Yat Teas Mala e endless dea: we Ta oe desu wer nae TK malta ‘ | Miss St. Denis visits the STANDARD’S 6-room model Bungalow— delightful!” she —this six-room model bungalow is actually built on the main floor of this store!
