Phene Main EXPLAIN WHERE THE BOY SCOUT MONEY WILL 60 Tuesday and Wednesday both saw heavy responses to the 26 teams of 4 captain and five men each who are canvassing wellknown men and/ women of Seattle for a fund of $60,- 000 to keep the Seattle Boy Scouts | going for another three years. There is no question, Drive Manager Carl Croson says, that the entire fund will have been obtained by Thursday noon The teams all meet daily at head quarters, S@ond and Columbia, to have luncheon and compare notes. The utmost enthusiasm and confi- dence prevailed at the Tuesday and Wednesday meetings. | The teams have been asked just | what was going to be done with the $60,000. Here is the answer: The Boy Scouts have only four persons on salary. For all salaries, supplies, office expenses and other adminis- trative costs there must be set aside | $39,000 for the three years. The Seward Park camp and a new salt water summer camp will take $10, 000 more. As dues for the three years $3,000 must be sent to the New York national headquarters, That's $52,000. The other $8,000| is to enable the Scouts to grow and expand their usefulness and take in more members, As it will be impossible for the teams to see everyone interested in the Boy Scout movement, Drive Manager Croson asks those who wish to subscribe to please send subscrip- tions to the Scout headquarters, Hen- ry building. Receipts will be return. ed by mail.
