Why not trust the council to do the work for which it is elected? At any rate, we should amend our charter to enable any section or item of an ordinance to be vetoed. | But why not abolish the veto and fix full responsibility for legislative {policy upon the council? We voted against such an amend- ment once. Many people do not stop to think that the veto in city affairs is unnecessary, foolish; does more harm than good. Bolcom has been head wait- er of the Breakers’ cafe here for six years. While the Breakers turned into a dance and soft-drink emportum when the state went dry on January 1, Sid cannot reconctle himself, apparently, to the changed condition of affairs, and so it's the big elty for him.
