If you don’t know where your precinct polling place is, ring up Main 8500 and ask the registration of- fice. Three propositions will be on the ballot. The most important is the Hinky Dink charter. Vote “No” on that. Another proposition, also submitted by the charter framers, is a fake issue on whether to allow franchises without providing common-user clauses, and the city’s right to take public utilities over without paying for the franchises. The supreme court has ruled that the people have nothing to say about franchise matters, and the vote therefore would mean nothing. The third proposition is the question of bridges. Be sure to vote for the Ballard bridge, no matter how you vote on the others. It will help the city car line get into Ballard. The first two propositions need only a majority vote to carry.
