The doctor is said to have been arrested once before. According to the meager details of the case given out by the she {ffs office, the girls had left th department store Saturday night about 10 o'clock, when they were invited to an auto ride by the doc- tor. They both accepted in a spirit of fun, The “joy ride” took them out of the limits of the city and they stopped in front of a house which they thought might be a roadhouse, where they could bave some refreshments. They agreed to go in for a little while. That the doctor meant to became immediately apparent, is the story of the escaped girl. Bat when they attempted to escape they found that the doors had been locked and that they were in a sol- itary, out-of-the-way place. They screamed, but, it was of no avail. They were held prisoners. Late last night, one of the girls seized her opportunity and made a dash for a window and succeeded in getting away. She ran all the way to Richmond Beach in frenzied fright. But she managed to wake up some kindly resident of that town and the sheriffs office was notified at 1 o'clock this morning. Deputy Leighton immediately start- ed out in search of the physician. Other deputies were sent out this }morning, but nothing has so far been heard from any of them, and it is believed that the doctor may have taken alarm and skipped out, LEAGUE WILL TALK STADIUM The regular quarterly meeting of the Seattle Recreation and Play- ground league will be held in the ‘assembly rooms of the Chamber of |Commerce Wednesday evening. | The league is seeking all phases of | the stadium question and desires a llarge attendance at this meeting. | Speakers for and against the prop osition will be heard.
