This rim enables a cab to carry an already inflated tire which can be adjusted in two or three minutes, and the contract fs the largest of the kind jever made in this part of the coun try. Morse and his mechanician, Omer Desch eneaux, started across the country }on a trip of 10,000 miles from Low ell to Beattle by the southern route, returning by the northern “ocean to ocean” contest route. Mr. | Morse makes the trip in his own car, a 35h. p, PopeHartford road ster, the same machine In which | he made a record breaking run last November in the Maine woods on a deer hunting expedition. Crowd at Start. A crowd waa on hand at the city hall garage at the time of the start shortly before noon apd cheered the Morses as they rode off for Ayer. Mrs. Moree turned on the power at the start. It te sald that she is the firet woman tn the world to make thie harrowing trip across deserts and mountains. Mre Morse said: “I feel certain that [ will not give up on account of fe Ugue or fear, I have traveled a good many thousand miles with | Mr. Morse, My health is the very best and I feel that thie will be one of the beat experiences of my iife.
