M. Sullivan Trust Company that are held by the company or by the creditors of the company will be pooled and kept out of the market until the prices of the stocks have reached levels that would warrant the sale of them. That is the substance of an agreement reached yester Peter ent Rickey, Manager Russell, Grant and the creditors. At the present market rates the out- standing stocks, so Rickey said, are worth something like $3,000,000. The prices of the stocks have been depre-| ciated greatly by the difficulties that have attended the business of the L. M. ullivan Trust Company. “A fair valu- ation would be $2,000,000 to $3,000,000 the mines now stand,” said Rickey. When the mines are fully veloped the values will be much higher. In speaking-of the details of the plan agreed upon Rickey and Russell said hat all the stocks held by the company and by its creditors would be placed in | the Nevada State Bank and Trust Com- pany’s sub-bank at Goldfleld and that the bank would act as trustee. A com- mittee was appointed to determine when to sell the company’s and the creditors’ stock. This committee consists of T. B. Rickey, Alexander Russell, lock of Salt Lake and Charles E. Hud- son. The stocks will be marketed in the aiscretion of this committee at such times and in such quantities as -may be deemed advisable. from such sales will go in the propor- tion of 40 per cent to the State Bank and Trust Company, 40 per cent to the reditors of the Sullivan company other th the State Bank and Trust Company and 20 per cent to the bank until all the debts have been met in full. Such is the plan that, according to Messrs. Rick and Russell, has met with the indorsement of all the creditors. A| formal document will be drawn up and | signed by all the parties in interest. President Ricke) of the company would be developed as fast as possible and that the results| would insure higher prices for the stocks as the work progressed. Rickey reiterated his belief in the value of the Sullivan mines and said: “I expect to have a good story to tell soon.” Several hundred thousands of shares of the L. M. Sullivan Company’'s mines are held by private individuals and these may float into the market. Whilé the stocks held by the Sullivan com- and the State Bank and Trust ny are held in the pool the float- ing Sullivan stocks will indicate what the public estimates the shares to be This may be more or less of a to the committee that has been named to administer the matter. No creditor is likely, so sald Messrs. Rickey nd Russell, to make any objection to y of the details of the plan, for the| reason that all have expressed complete The creditors, will be paid The time when the settlement be finally effected will, naturally, depend upon circumstances, The local prices for Southern Nevada stocks had a bad drop yesterday, but there were large sales. The Goldfield Consolidated mines were sold local mining boards at a wide range of prices. The range was from $9.871, the lowest, to $10.25 straight and up to $10.50, buyer 60. Altogether the merger shares that were sold numbered 6770. leaders in the matter of the number sold, the total being 66,600. The high- est price was 60 cents and the lowest 57 cents, seller 30. Blue Bell sales were 100 shares at 32 and 33 cents; Mo- | 12,900; St. Ives, 12,000 | These were the leaders of in- with the merger shares and Red hawk Extension, shares. Calvert Smoot Delivers Ad- dress Before California Club “War, Past, Present and Future” | was-the subject of an address delivered by Rev. Calvert Smoot before the mem- bers of the California Club yesterday afternoon. He spoke eloquently in behalf of arbitration among the nations. He gave a history of the earlier methods and causes of war, many | statistics in regard to the losses both | in life and property, and some Interest- ing figures as to the number of inter- national differences settled by arbi- tration. These were most numerous from 1901 .to 1903, there being sixty- | three such matters adjudicated during that time. The speaker advocated the estab- lishment of a Supreme Court of Nations to settle questions in dispute and this | he thought would be the highest proof | of our civilization. In addition to Rev. | Mr. Smoot's address there was some very enjoyable music, Mrs. Thomas | Nunan singing charmingly, as did also L. A.
