About twp dozen ladies' skirts, a suit of clothes, an overcoat and several boxes of knives and forks were stolen from the Red Cr tent at the Pre- sidio some time Wednesday evenin, 4 by some one who entered the tent during the absence of the guard. The goods were missed early the next morning and a detachment of soldiers was sent out to search the tents for tolen goods. After several hou reh was discontinued, but it v - taken up again this morning outside of the reservation. The soldiers dec that the goods were taken befor i o ck. for at that hour a guard is placed both in- | side and out of the tent. Three men sleep in the tent, while one patrols it from the outside. It is helieved that the’ thief, knowing that the Red Cross people were in the habit of leaving the tent before the guard reported on, watehed his opportunity and away with the goods before any one in authority arrived.
