On the face of the situation this| condition is syrious in that the refusal| of an insurance company to grant more | than the sixty days allowed in the poli-| cies would mean the sucrifice of all payment. to hundreds of the insired | who have not been ablé to connéct with | the companies in which they were in-| sured. ~Objection was_raised today at the meeting of the Fire Underwriters' Ad- justing Bureau at Reed Hall by several| representatives of insurance companies to signing the extension agregmient.| The argument hinged upof the respon- sibility of the reipsuring companies, | whether they could be held liable in pvent an extension were permitted by the original imsuring company. point provoked much discussion and was the issue which caused a postpone- | ment of a general extension order.
