YMPATHETIC FITS ATTACK A FAMILY Strange Nervous Malady De- velops Among Young Children. NEWBURG, N. Y, Feb. 8.—Sympa- thetic. fits is a nervous malady that has attacked six members of a family of twelve children who live near here. One of the boys in the family, which is that of Terrence Clark of East Goldenham, is the cause of this strange malady. He is now in a hospital here. Realizing that the boy was afraid of a kicking mule that was stabled near the farmhouse, a driver named Lynch placed him last Christmas night in the stall with the mule and then locked the stable door, leaving him in the dark. The lad's cries attracted atten- tion and he was rescued in a state of _collapse, his mind being affected. RENO, Feb. 8 —Reno also witnessed the eclipse of the moon to-night. For a half hour before the shadow of the earth began to cross Luna bright stars began falling in the vicin- ity. One, it is belicved by many who wit- néssed it, was an immense meteor that left a bright trail of smaller meteors in its path as it descended to the earth. It struck apparent- ly within & few miles south of Reno close to Moana Springs. Its path was visible for sev- eral moments after its descent. The other and smalier stars apparently were extinguished before reaching the earth, About 10 o'clock the eclipse began and it was after 11 before it was over. The stars did not fall as rapidly while the eclipse was in progress. From all appearances they darted forth from & clear sky and fell toward the earth like a dying rocket.
