Sumner, at | 28 24-100 cents: kip leather, 425 pounds, to Burtchaell at 46 cents; hemlock sole leather, to the Michigan Leather Company, at 24 cents; oak sole leather, to John P. Winchester, at 26 cents, the quantity being 4580 pounds. The contract for supplying sugar | does not come to San Francisco. On the schedules appear the words ‘“no awards.” The Government advertised | for 237,150 pounds of granulated sugar, | standard, medium grain, delivered in | double bags. HERZL Holds Impressive Memorial Service for Great Zionist Leader at Syna- gogue Kneseth Israel. An impressive memorial service for the late Dr. Herzl, late Zionist leader and president of the Zionist Congress, who died in Vienna and whose funeral takes place to-day in Jerusalem, was held in the Synagogue Kneseth Israel last night. Affectionate tribute was paid the memory of the departed, and among | those who gave volce to the mourn- ing of the Jewish people of San Fran- cisco were Leon Album, the Rev. Dr. Leon Magnus, professor at the Hebrew | Union College, Cincinnati, and Elias Gordon. The service was conducted by the Rev. H. Samuelson.
